Why are dates important in submitting responses?

The date of a submission is important to establish that the document was already publicly available by a given date, so that the client can accomplish a stated objective (e.g. invalidity, state of the art, evidence of use). This is why each Study includes a "Latest Date for Responses" (LDR).
