#1, Some article looks useful, but there are no pdf in public.
Payment or registration required, only abstract can read for me.
Your format is needed to upload pdf files.
It's worse for us and client.
I know the document details are important.
But all of documents are not in public.
They are open source, that is why they have patents.
How about partial registration for tips?

That's a great idea! Like a fool, I buy the article thinking through some miracle of nature, I have a chance of winning and can recoup the money. It ends up on my taxes as a business expense loss related to periodicals purchased. I have found instances for articles that require payment that if you google the author's name and the author is at an academic institution, some academic institutions have a license which allows the author to freely distribute the article and provide links to free versions of the pdf under the author's faculty profile. Then there are authors who, regardless of their affiliation, are public domain activists and if you email them expressing an interest in their scholarly work but explain that you have walked miles and miles from library to library to library in search of a specific article of theirs and are at your wit's end, they will just email you a pdf to end your misery.
